341 Creditor's Meeting and Debtor Education Class

341 Creditor Meetings are held Wednesdays at 1:00 pm.
Debtor Education class is held Wednesday morning of the debtor's 341 Creditor's Meeting at 8:45 am. Debtors should arrive no later than 8:45 am to sign in and receive materials to begin.

DEBTOR EDUCATION

Pursuant to 11 U.S.C. §1328(g) - a provision of the Bankruptcy Code, most Chapter 13 debtors will not be eligible for a discharge until they have completed a post-petition "instructional course concerning personal financial management."

11 U.S.C. §111 speaks generally about the content of such a course, and it assigns to the United States Trustee the responsibility for approving and evaluating providers.

The program is coordinated and conducted by experienced and highly-trained instructional personnel; they rely upon excellent and professional course materials. It's offered the morning of the 341 Creditor Meeting. The course is offered at no cost to the debtor.
